It's not wrong to like two people at the same time ONLY WHEN ALL THREE ARE AWARE AND CONSENTING. This guy doesn't want a poly relationship...he just wants to keep mc as a side chick.

@Cassandra i think it depends on when a person like another. though for this guy i think its wrong since he's already in a relationship, it just says something which is he is not consistent with his current love interest. and yes i also think that he's just making the mc a side chick
