Back when mc was young he was in some kind of accident and he lost his memories of certain amount of time, he had short-term memory loss. Rn he tryed to remember smth and he remembers smth abt some boy who's name tag he has in his pocket. 
And in last chapters idk if u remember or not but mc asked ml 'have we met before?' So we can say that the boy he remembers from his past is the ml. And ml at that time said 'what do u remember?' Like he was trying to make mc remember smth he was kinda happy so i think ml remembers their past. And now ml is haveing a bad dream saying 'pls don't leave me' so i think when ml and mc were children mc helped ml and then he was in accident (or him and ml were in accident) and he lost memories of ml and ml 'lost' him he couldn't find him. And now he is dreaming abt mc and saying don't leave me again... 
(That's js my opinion)
