if i remember correctly, that man will help her as edith give her necklace to him. but ofc, he help her after being beaten to death by those 2 piece of sh*t and after cliff didn't even try to find her. this is the beginning of the run away arc. 😭

In the novel there were 2 men they took her to the basement and talked and thought abt SA her then they ask her relationship with the captain which She said that shes his sister so they stopped thinking and talking abt SA her so they asked what did She do to get this treatment which She answers by questioning if they have siblings then they answer by saying that they have siblings and their relationship with them then edith says that her own brother took the maids side (sophia the bitxh) than her then both of the men start sh** talking sophia then edith joins with them in which She gains a bit of sympathy from them them they loosen her arms a bit and tell her if She survives She should go to the north so edith gave them her ruby necklece for them to GET OUT from here after that sophia comes to the room and says that She looks in a bad spot (what a bitxh💀) then edith wants to stall time for cliff to came and rescue the them after that edith says why sophia hated her and why She hates lize if shes not planning to confess to her brother next She Regrets not confessing to killain abt her true feelings finally sophia says that killain was being kind to her cuz nobody will critisize him for fighting against her father then sophia starts torturing edith with a horse whip (holy sh** i wrote alot 💀)

It wasn't long say 1or 2 chapters in novel. The reconciliation and final arc is extremely close by.
