He broke up with him because he wasn't controlling him and getting jealous over every little thing...?? Are you fr?? 😠Ok but be serious for a sec, if he got jealous and/or told him not to stay out too late, he would've gotten mad at him for being possessive. Which I'm sure the ML was trying to avoid because he didn't want to be hated by the MC but like they broke up anyway lmaooo. By the looks of it, they're probs gonna fu** next chap and will probably become fu** buddies, a bit redundant after such a dramatic breakup but whatevs 😂

Not every reaction to a partner's actions is necessarily jealousy or controlling, and that's clearly not what the protagonist wanted to say. Saying things to your boyfriend and only receiving an "okay," or a similar response, is somewhat disheartening.
Personally, I believe it might reflect a partial disinterest. But everyone has different needs within a relationship... some expect their partner to engage or react more, and that doesn't mean wanting the other person to be toxic towards you. Perspectives on relationships are like a**: everyone has one.
It's strange to think that there are only two extremes – being obsessed or not caring at all. Not every relationship is like a poorly written yaoi, neither in fiction nor in real life.
We are all so different people, and the reason why not everyone can sustain a relationship, even if they like someone, is the inability to align those needs. Everyone is different and has experienced a completely different life. Expecting people to have idealized behavior within a relationship or standardized emotional goals is not right.
