I don't think he had feelings for ao.. he's just an extremely proud and self absorbed guy, who wanted to be the most important friend that was helping ao...it was all about winning and being the coolest in every aspect to him. That's why he's fine as soon as he's talking to his best friend. And he even says he needs to change his attitude of being an extremely sore loser. Especially for love or friendships it never about winning.... makes him very uncool
