theirs actually an explaination for this. according to the youtube, the author of jjk hates gojo since he made him too op and he thinks the story won't progress if gojo is still alive. so gojo has to die for the plot to continue.

Sadly - altough I'm crying my eyes out - I was kinda expected it, for the same reason you just said. The story can't really go on with Gojo in it. :((
But hey, at least he's with Suguru now. (Trying to comfort myself.)
