Spoiler!
Marine remembers the garden where she had gone with Peridot before, so she runs there. In the snow, she finds small footprints and realizes they belong to Peridot. This makes her feel a little relieved because there are no other footprints, so he seems to be alone. She follows the footprints and reaches an old tower. Marine finds a broken part in the fence around the tower and goes inside. The tower is dark and scary, but she carefully climbs up the stairs. At the top, she finds a small room and hears a rustling sound. She gently opens a wardrobe and finds Peridot hiding inside, curled up and scared. He refuses to come out or talk to her. Soon, Dia and the Duke arrive. Dia tries to comfort Peridot, but he doesn’t respond.

Then the Duke speaks, and suddenly Peridot runs out and starts hitting him while crying. For the first time, Peridot speaks and asks why the Duke came instead of his mother. He reveals that his mother had promised to come to him if he stayed quiet, so he believed that speaking would stop her from coming. Dia and Marine realize that Peridot stayed silent all this time because of that promise. The Duke apologizes and tells Peridot that his mother did keep her promise by protecting him in her own way. He tells Peridot to blame him instead. Peridot cries that he misses his mother, and the Duke hugs him, trying to comfort him. Dia and Marine watch this and quietly cry too 😭😭😭
I like to post spoilers for the stories I find interesting because I don't have much time to read novel due to busy schedule you will find me in most romantic historical manhwa comment sections

@Introvert  Then
Spoiler!
Peridot becomes very tired and sad because he misses his mother. He cries and says he hates her for not keeping her promise to come back. The Duke gently comforts him and explains that his mother did keep her promise by protecting him until the end. Peridot continues crying, saying he misses her. Later, the children are eating together. Garnet avoids eating her vegetables, and Rubiana complains. They argue playfully until Peridot suddenly says he wants to go see the Duke. Everyone is surprised because Peridot had not been speaking much before. Dia stays calm and agrees to take him, saying they should ask their teacher, Marine. Dia also tells her sisters that they should stop wearing mourning clothes and try to move forward. The next morning, Dia and Peridot visit Marine. Peridot explains quietly that he wants to apologize to the Duke for hitting him and also says the Duke reminds him of his mother.

Marine agrees to take him and lets Dia rest for the day. When they reach the Duke’s office, it is bright and feels different than usual. Peridot is shy at first but bravely walks up to the Duke. He apologizes and offers to “blow on it” to make the pain better. The Duke is surprised but gently accepts his apology and reminds him not to hit others. Peridot then allows the Duke to pat his head, showing he is becoming more comfortable. He asks if he can stay and play there with his teacher. The Duke agrees and tells Oliver to prepare a comfortable place with chairs, drawing materials, and snacks so Peridot can stay and feel at ease.
