This is one of the worst MC I've seen/read in a while. He monologues, he let's villains live, let them commit crimes, and he shows up late every single time so his own people suffer horribly before he saves them. He has a twisted hero complex that needs to be weeded out from the author. He might as well be a villain who wants to appear as the hero by saving people last minute. Reminds me more of "I am the fated villain" more so then a hero or even a "good guy".

@Monsoonawasa did you miss the port where he said he needs him alive long enough to get his skill back?
And as friends got hurt at the same time, he was going deeper into the dungeon, the see what was inside.
And the man is a realist and does not have a hero complex, and would never have one, especially after the experience. He had with his old party, which I'm not mistaken, was the hero party.
