Later, Clarisse privately tells Maximilian an important truth. A jewel she received from Amelda originally belonged to Maximilian’s mother, Queen Eleanor. The jewel reveals that Amelda was responsible for her death. This shocks Maximilian deeply and strengthens his resolve. Clarisse then investigates the collapsed golem. She manages to communicate with it, and it tells her that it is waiting for six people who “need the truth” before it can act. It also mentions that some of its pieces are missing. Clarisse realizes that one of those pieces might be the magical stone embedded in Noah’s face. Clarisse struggles emotionally because she has feelings for Noah but cannot express them. She knows the stone protects him, so removing it could put him in danger. After thinking it over, she decides to talk to him. When she finally goes to his room, Noah acts distant and formal, showing that their relationship has become strained. Even so, she insists on discussing the golem with him, and he reluctantly lets her in.

Clarisse also reveals that a missing stone is one reason the golem cannot get up. One stone is in her room, which Noah had given her before. However, there is another missing piece, and Clarisse realizes that this second stone is actually inside Noah’s body. It has been protecting him all this time using his mother’s magic. She asks for permission to examine it, and Noah reluctantly agrees, even though he feels uncomfortable. When Noah removes his mask, Clarisse sees his real face and thinks he looks wonderful, even though he believes he looks ugly. She then checks his chest and finds the red stone embedded near his heart. She carefully touches it to understand it better, while Noah reacts nervously and awkwardly.
