@Sugar brownie He is not trying to change. He hasn't done anything besides harassing MC, ruining his work and not listening to what he says. He thinks he can just decide to get back together and get married and doesn't even bother to actually ask MC about what he wants. He didn't actually put any effort or work into getting MC back or redeeming himself. All he does is use his money to buy stuff and now he even tired to blackmail/buy MC too when he was pushed into a corner because of the vase... That is not actual effort.
