@DEVINE CONSTELLATION OF BOREDOM... This doesn't really apply to this manhwa because I remember reading it in the past and their town is very peaceful. But in actual villages, towns, and tribes of the past in the real world containing children when possible was actually quite typical. If a child was of the age and needed to help work for the family's sake of course they'd go out but a lot of places where crime was more common and some places didn't have any law enforcement or laws in general families would isolate their children quite a bit in order to avoid unnecessary risk. This was especially the case for very young children that weren't capable of reliably running or speaking as well as girls that were at higher risk.
Of course none of this applied to him so all I can say is that these guys suck at socializing their kid I guess
