Honestly... I never understood why the novel decided to punish Annette character this harshly... There are a lot of criminals out there and their children suffer but my g** not to the extent like they were the ones who committed the crime... Especially in the time period that this story is set in... How was she possibly supposed to be aware of any of it? Even if she was how exactly was she expected to revolt? And the love interest? It's always a pretty girl's cannon fate to meet a sick psycho that makes her life unnaturally miserable in the name of a twisted love/obsession/hate/jealousy or inferiority complex... Truly sad... The plot of it all.

@Aditi Johri I think the author may had a special hatred towards the girl name " Annette " in real life. Maybe that's why he wrote this manga to make the girl Annette the fl so he can make her miserable and never let happiness even touch her. From what I'm seeing so far now I can only get this conclusion that he might have a girl whose name maybe was Annette in his real life bcz from the very start the author didn't even let the fl be happy for even more than a second so yeah maybe the Annette name was his crush who whose another men over him that's why he is taking his anger on manga.
And now I just wanted her to die without regret ofcourse I hated the psycho ml even now nothing can justify what he did to fl and who on there right mind can say that this is love what the he**?? Nobody can love a person just bcz of there beauty it's called attraction,lu** and etc but not love. Love is what the fl did endure everything for the ml not what the ml did bcz when he finally got her he treated her more worst than a trash it's just that he wanted a pretty doll to torture her somebody give him a pretty doll let our lovely fl die peacefully without regrets.
@Y.G I do have to say that the author has great storytelling skills because my g** by the latest chapter I was also happy that he finally came to her and that they might end up happy and healed together but then it struck me that the author made sure to not have her interact with any other male characters to let her explore chemistry and attraction and possibly a new love with someone other than heiner... So since we as reader wanted her to have a happy love life too... We just ended up rooting for her to get back together with that monster cause he was literally the only choice available in the context of the plot. Yes, there was the other army guy that she is friendly with but... He isn't as assertive or supposedly firm enough to warrant being seen as a love interest... Just a nice guy who viewed fl as a person and is a good friend... No chemistry there. They were both each other's firsts and familiarity is a dangerous thing when it comes to healing and starting fresh.
