@a person ig She has to say that because she doesn't know anything about that world. They expect her to act as normal, so it's better to let them think that she has "amnesia" so that her behavior (which will obviously be different) won't confuse them. Plus, their names might not even be in the book, and like she said, she finds it weird to call them mother and father, so she's kinda stuck.
