I feel like sunny's brother is homophobic and the person sunny liked in college was a guy and his controlling brother (at the moment his giving off and over protective controlling vibe) didn't approve of it so sunny is starting to try to to hide his feelings and say what he said in the chapter before this (I kinda forgot it lol) since he's always allowed people to get what they want, and won't fight for what he wants.
