Dont get me wrong because i absolutely love these kinds of stories but why do they never just take a bunch of cash and leave like if ig were me ill take a bunch of jewels and money sell the jewels and live a comfortable life overseas or far away from where i was
@Uggabugga I think there are a few that try, but only when the ML or someone hunts them down or they become a key conponent to preventing the ruin of the place.
But something to consider: if you stayed within the peramiters of the story, somewhat, you have control over the situation because you know what is supposed to happen. when you abandon the main plot, you lose the forsight benefit and are living at the whim of the universe like you are now. who cares if you become filthy rich and live comfortably if your abandoning the plot butterflies into the dragon attackign your settled town and not the originally written about one.
