He realised that she asks this not because she actually enjoys it, but because she wants to die, wants pain and suffering as attonoment and punishment for failing to help her unni. She doesn't love herself, so he is showing her how much he loves and adores her, how she is worth all the love and care and she should stop being so harsh on herself. He is one serious green flag
