@myisekiaadventures seeing as how the well was poisoned already and goats need about 3x the amount of water that humans need. Not including the amount needed to lactate; its mathematically improbable to call this a temporary fix unless they planned on systematically slaughtering the goats for meat to conserve water until the aqueduct is built while trucking in more goats on top.

Its just another "MC is 'supposed' to be smarter than the author, but fails," scenario and it irks me.

4th Wave is Schrödinger's Feminism. A woman is simultaneously empowered and oppressed. Her status is determined by which one she percieves as advantageous in any given situation.

@PurrpiTator 100% agree, its always these kind of solutions that completely destroy the story for me. It shows the author doesnt really understand the world their character lives in. It has the same feel as when these princesses/ladies "invent" fast cheap fashion, like such a system would never be feasible in medieval-times, as it was mass production that allowed it in the first place. But it just magically works in this world cause it currently works in our modern one, not really taking time to think "why" does this work. Same with restaurants etc.
