@B P (Ult1m4) Tree roots fu** with the pavement over time, and the foundation of houses if they're too close.

They spent the last year(!) repairing the big road near my apartment and installing/repairing sidewalks. One I'm particularly glad about because the tree roots had raised a square of sidewalk pavement about an inch. I have to walk that part to get to the bus stop. I tripped over it at least twice due to poor lighting, being half-asleep, or both.

(Due to how the buses run that fugbuck early in the morning and where I work, a 9 am open requires getting on the bus at 6:30-ish. I medically can't drive and Uber is expensive, so I only use it when I have to.)

@Galactic Navy Officer Yeah, that's understandable but that's because the people that plant those trees don't give it proper space and depth for it's roots to take place. Trees might sound like a hassle and sometimes it is for multiple reasons but it helps the environment in a lot of ways and it's important not for cities to become too far apart from nature. It's just a matter how to plan appropriately when planting trees, that's all. I personally hate living in places without enough greenery... and that includes a lot of cities ofc.
