I don’t agree that the MC is at fault here. Ashiya’s behavior reads as harassment, not romance, and wrapping it in omegaverse tropes doesn’t automatically justify it. The mc was masked almost immediately after presenting as an omega, which means he never had the space to actually understand his own biology.
Every omegaverse world operates differently depending on the creator, including scent intensity, instinct strength, social hierarchy, all of it varies. So really we don't know what would've happened if he was never scented
On top of that, his identity is built around sports. That’s his life plan. Becoming an omega threatens his performance, his reputation, and his long-term trajectory. Of course he’s scared. And literally why would anyone want to be an omega, valid reaction.
Saying they should “just get together” ignores that the MC clearly doesn’t want to explore that side of himself right now. Compatibility doesn’t override consent. And comparing it to hypothetical worse outcomes doesn’t justify what’s happening.
Anywho, that is my take…this chapter made me kinda sick 😭
The MC not engaging with Ashiya makes sense. He isn’t obligated to act on desires tied to his biology—just like anyone might not explore their sexuality under pressure. His boundaries are realistic self-preservation, not rejection.
Highkey, I’m not used to this omegaverse stuff, so maybe don’t listen to me 😔
