@Zaddy, Chloe is her best friend. Not only is that Hector cheating. His family is abusing his wife and he probably know it too but didn't do anything. He did not want to divorce Chloe because he's afraid that his parents would know.

@Someone the dad met the step mom and her grandmother was obsessed with the brother because the FL wasn't a boy. They put him on a pedestal instantly. Almost as if she wasn't alive. Treated her like trash her whole life. Basically the entire plot..
