This story started with isagi being the mc, but throughout out the manga it is proven that there will be more then one character who will come for this MC role. It is known that the mc will be no one but the characters in the manga. There is no ONE mc.
-> all the characters are having their own pace and it's include isagi too whose ego was binded for so long that it will take time for him to get out of the cage. Every time he overcome one obstacle, another one will be waiting for him. So yeah, it will take time for him to surpass himself.
