Ok I think I understand now not sure due to the fuc**** translation. Guys this is just my opinion on what I think is happening.
Ok so I think the brother didn't truly hate her but was just I think jealous. Bc she's treated with more love by their grandfather and she has more magic than him. To him she is pretty much living a carefree life. While he tried so hard to be this perfect picture of a son. But he still loves her but doesn't know how to, so he says things and it creates misunderstandings and a gap between him and his sister. Now if I'm right I can understand why he's like this bc of his piece of sh** parents but that still doesn't excuse him for not looking out for her as a big brother. Now I am hoping that I'm right and that he truly does care for his sister I would be very happy.
