From what I saw Cheong's pheromone issue was psychological because of the trauma he experienced in his past with the woman, who assaulted him. So I'm pretty sure that in the end when he realized that Yirim was all he needed THAT is what helped him get over the issue. So I don't think he struggles with pheromones anymore.
