What part the story is confusing it's totally understandable 
Mc has a misfortune like if he don't be careful the shadow demon will consume himm. That's why the lady in the 1st chapter said she will train him properly but mc mom and dad don't agree and after sometime some unusual activitys are happening in the mc household like money jwellery disappearing and the shadow demon who's in MC's shadow terrify the household that's when mc household keep in in a basement like room but mc was afraid of  darkness he kept it candle with him accidentally house catch up with fire.
And the mysterious lady appear told Mc to go north side who can teach him how to kept that demon away and give him charm to kept that shadow demon away then he meet the blonde hair guy and go to academy and MC accidentally lost his charm and that shadow appear again but the ml saved him and the teacher saw that take them into there some kind group to seal or kill demons that's it
