Ah right so author wants to make it super hard for the audience to prefer the intended ML after throwing out this guy, could have at least had the viscount guy be 50/50 on dirty thoughts and pure/romantic thoughts. Its not unusual for you to have some perverted thoughts about the person you like after spending time with them for a year but in a whole year the guy never thought once that she had a cute smile or, that she was just beautiful or, that she has a personality that he desires but no he doesn't which it makes it hard to root for the guy
Still, she can HEAR his inner voice, but has no access to his deep thoughts. So if he isn't used to describe what he find beautiful in her and/or doesn't know which words to put on his feelings she may not hear it. The previous chapter showed it, she couldn't hear the end of his thought because he never added the final words, which absolutely doesn't mean he never had any other idea to complete it. It seem more like the feeling or the words at that times were resonnating deep down in his heart. 🤔
he may also no want to confess to himself the words loudly in his mind by fear to be mistaken ? After all he seems more on the rationnal side, so to him feeling affection and attraction for another person than a relative (family) might be quite new and strange. If he never had any other experience to rationalise his feelings before or never reflected on what is love and the exeptations he could have of it, he might have been surprised by the surge of love and the natural attraction that a man can have for a woman (and vice versa) ! And so even if deep down he think of her in a "purer" way 🤐it may be the lu** that express itself naturally 🤤, because with his heart he is focused to capture every little bit of her.🤫
After all, thoughts aren't all about words : a lot of them are pictures and other sensations indescriptible by words.
PS : another funny idea for the way his inner thought took such a turn might be that someone recommended to him some populare "hot" rommances when he questionned himself on his feelings ... Or some things of that short which could explain how he got so much erotic knowledges and develped such habits...That our FL can hear.😂 And any way the little voice in our head (inner voice) is often the superficial one (even though it express some feelings) with no much reflexion in it, when we are doing another thing in the same time. And if no for his thoughts, the ML is beaving himself quite well !
