For those confused, this is like a poem but in the form of a manhwa.
It is not supposed to be taken literally, since the events themselves seem to be rather convulated, the true meaning in this manhwa lies in symbolism.
Primarily the theme of the sheep, the wolf, trust, naivety, manipulation and devotion.
We are first introduced to a man who is to tend to sheep, told not to trust anyone but the sheep, only the sheep can be trusted, you are part of the sheep, we are all and have always been part of the sheep.
Todd asks him about the life of a sheep, someone tamed, someone who follows the herd, someone who trusts, someone who's mind is easy to influence, without a head, the sheep would fall into frenzy because sheep don't have the ability to think for themselves. He is not just referring to sheep but the community of people as a whole.
Dennis then understands. He is naive, but not ignorant, he knows not to trust with sense but to trust blindly. He knows he is being manipulated but he cannot help but fall into his trap all for that momentary pleasure. That is how easily influenced a sheep's mind is, it only takes a second. He knows he's a sheep, yet he willingly takes the bait.
Momentary loss makes you fear, anxiety makes one vulnerable, if he doesn't walk into the trap, he will fall back into another abyss created by himself, at that moment he decided that he need not fear anymore because he resolutely chooses to surrender and devote himself to temptation, to the only path he knows.
Then he enters a dream, just a single day or a single week, he enters a dream. In this dream he is chasing his pleasure free of anxiety and once woken up, he can only look forward to the time he can dream once more.
But the harbinger of the dream, the wolf, the coyote had already taken what he wanted, trust, naivety, and an endlessly devoted mind.
