I don't mind this being a little of a slow burn, no problem. The art is beautiful, and they are obviously Endgame.
What I can't deal with is dragged out miscommunication with no end in sight.
pepe stickerBecause they won't just converse about what's going on in their heads, they just leave things unsaid, and getting hurt.Tei feels like he isn't good enough or fulfilling his role/purpose... a characteristic as a former warrior that is important to him.

Shuraka is infatuated with tei, openly expresses his love and adoration but turns tei's attempts down all the time from fear of feeling like he is pushing himself on tei.
He isn't even giving tei a chance to develop feelings...  Or even navigate the current ones. He just keeps denying and holding tei at a distance whilst claiming he can't live without him. He is scared of losing tei to his hometown to the point of isolating him from communications, but keeps on drawing the line when tei tries to get closer physically.
This would be a disconnect of actions vs words for anyone, and especially when tei is also aware that the lack of intimacy has a biological negative effect on shuraka's body.bunny sticker
He is also low-key making Tei look like a fool and undesired in the eyes of the other concubines, and possibly the wait staff. Although the pink haired man surely knows the score now, but I dunno if he would've discussed it.
The bath scene was so sweet but I just wanna see a chapter where they ask questions about how the other is feeling. Or where Tei takes a stronger stance or gets visually upset from Shuraka's rejection and voices it. Otherwise the main plot feels stuck. As for the letters I hope it doesn't involve any bad news about tei's brother as I think that would drive a deep wedge when he finds out about them.
