If I recall correctly, Raymond eventually figures out that Snakey lied to him, but forgives him even for that. The Beast Races do eventually wipe out most of the cultivator sects, and Snakey becomes the strongest Beast by reaching the Nascent Soul realm. But that's probably around 100 more chapters.
