Controversial opinion I feel like a lot of manga/manhwa have badly written women.
I feel like they write men better than they do women and that's so sad.
it kinda makes me see how society view women

also it can be said for men to who possess feminine traits
the 'bottom' in the story most times (not all the time) are in bad positions in society
or just have personality flaws such as being naive ( which is not necessarily bad but in the context of a story it can be)

Honestly TLDR; authors need to stop the bullshit of poorly written women.

@1758 I agree. I grew up sorrounded by women and I can say with a little confidence say I have observed them deeply (kinda like studied them cuz I had to be safe especially when it's that time of the month). For some really strange reason, women here lack this trait I have observed which is common: when they hate something, they hate it.

This hate applies for both genders and I really can't feel the character unless it's in comedy where a lot of my observations get applied most. In manhwas/mangas nowadays they just shift like "I hate this today, I like this tomorrow and for the rest of my life", from what I have seen it swings more "I like this today, I hate it tomorrow and the day after and like it the next day".

The other thing I hate is how generic they are. I may not have read a lot of shoujo and josei but I can observe something- I can't find the words to explain it but it's like watching the same characters do everything all over again. What I'd like to see is a character like Roxana but not necessarily exactly her just strong like she is, smart the way she is. They don't have to be exactly like her she is a red flag after all but I am blind to that color so what can I do?

As for the bottoms, something I'd like is for both the women and the bottoms, about that naivety is why the he** do they somehow fall for their grapist? Like urgh... Gurl you need help. Unless it's dark romance cuz its dark romance for a reason (it's an exception to me for some reason).
@MsLady

yess on your last statement, why is it becoming normalize for people to fall in love with their rapîst and abusers? I feel Iike a lot of these story are propaganda atp.. it's lowkey conditioning women/men to accept abuse and trick them into thinking it's love.

I also agree with you on characters lacking depth, human beings are complex creatures and they always place women in a box in most of these stories. They always fall into an archetype like 'damsel in distress'.

the only time I see they give female characters a little freedom to have an actual personalityis when they play the villainess roles like Roxana.

@1758 I hate it most in shounen and seinen stories. The way the women just throw their chests towards the men are ABSOLUTELY HORRIFYING... Like gurl... Have some pride if you're out of dignity. Ts applies even if the lady is a knight whom trained for years. I get irritated by how shallow they are written because even if women are desperate it's just inappropriate to do that in public no less.

Of almost all the shoujo and josei manhwas/mangas I have read the ones I genuinely liked was a stepmother's marchen, roxana, villains are destined to die, the one within the villainess and a few others.
