Satan sent some demon people to catch Cain and the 'door' which is our mc. They expected Cain to have lost all his power when he got thrown into earth. The demons wanted to target mc bcs with the 'door' gone Cain would basically be powerless but Cain got rid of them then his right hand man guy, Sid, took the rest of the cops memories.
