Not really. The emperor became trashy husband became of another woman, he still was a decent emperor.

This man has always been trash, an ungrateful and horrible husband as well as an emperor. His greed knows no bound. He killed all her supporters and relatives because he wants the empire to be in the palm of his hand while he do nothing. 

At least in the remarried empress, the empress wasn't discredited like this. The two worked together. Only their relationship fell apart. It's a work of art. A must read.
