It takes Abel longer than it takes Karas. I'm pretty sure Karas recognizes Abel before they leave the Red Valley. I don't remember exactly when Abel finds out that Kara is the prince he once knew but it is long after he meets Karas' captains/commanders.
@SanityThief so does the way karas treats abel change? Like will he be kinder once be realizes that the blonde is abel?

Karas will not risk Abel getting hurt once he finds out, moves to save Abel's life, and a little after that is when Abel realizes Karas knows who he is. After that, Abel interprets Karas' actions as know under than others see him.
