@amia one episode they found a medical grade vibrator for the 30s. Yo learly 1900s medicine was insane. They would dose women with scopolamine and morphine during delivery and do sensory deprivation in a practice called Twilight Sleep so they wouldn't remember the birthing process. This depressed the babies central nervous system and caused postpartum depression
