@hopee sadly with bato. taken down there will be a lot less good scanlations or official translations. If you want proper translation you will need to pay for it... I am guessing that a lot of the stories I am reading won't be updated anymore even here. Because it's bots that find the stories on other sites and re-post them here, if I am guessing right. ... a sad day

@Kokoro for real! I was devastated when the mods announced that bato will not be coming back up, a lot of good scanlations are there and it's just sad I have to stick with sites like this one that has so many pop up ads.

@Jinxx yeah! And to lose the connection to the people who actually translate stuff only available in Korea and Japan...
I heard mangadex is a similar site for scanlation groups. If you have any other recommendations please 🙏 it's very welcome

@Jinxx whaaat? It's not coming back? Did they give a reason why that is? I used bato.si for a while but now that's dead too.... so sad, those where some if the best sites available

@NoOne438179 bato was down since December and the devs weren't able to fix it and... they're gonna face "legal" actions if they won't take the site down. Apparently, people talked a lot about bato that it became well known (people kept mentioning the site at public platforms) so they became at risk of being taken down. The same happened to mangadex. As far as I know, the team working on bato created a new site but it was not related to bato (some mods however, bid their goodbyes and stated that they wouldn't be part of the new site)

Lesson learned: gatekeeping sites aren't bad lol (hate to say it but sharing sites with others actually endangers it from being taken down. Lots of them posts the pirated ones on TikTok and publicly, shamelessly, cite the name on comment sections which made it easier for the authors and official platforms to monitor it and take legal actions)

@the queen they didn't really "come back". The new site is not at all affiliated with Bato and it is in new ownership now. The devs pretty much abandoned the site long before this happened.

@Jinxx so that's why it wasn't working properly...I was facing lot of problems while reading there like pages weren't loading properly not a single time from quiet some time I thought might be network issues or something with my phone ...now I get it
