I don't get why authors feel the need to create side characters who ruin the mc or ml's lives, just to give them a happy ending with a new partner. Why not let them stay the villain and skip the redemption? Like this ex, for instance.

@TripleAAA bro that's what life is yk like sometimes authors get the feeling to make stories on real incidents so readers could actually feel something no that that you are wrong but if everything goes happy vappy will you e actually interested to read you might be but there are some people who need drama that's why well i respect your opinion
@TripleAAA yeahh like the comment above me said, btw if u like a happy kind of story u can try 'our sunny day' (idk if that manhwa right now already have drama like this bcs it's been a long time since I marinated it so I can have much chapter to read)
@WhoEatMyChicken that's not my point. If anything, giving a villainous side character a redemption arc just to force a happy ending feels like a tired cliché. I’ve seen so many manhwa where a villainous ex-partner gets a fresh start and a happy ending, despite having destroyed mc or ml life. In reality people like that rarely change, they would just continue being malicious.
