Daniel is a regular human being who is just following the Eva Cult and thr Emperor and I think he knows that Emperor's soul is the same for a long time. I'm sure you noticed how Rania was possessed by a younger girl who was a priest, while the kid Denise something whose mother became a water ghost was possessed by a very old man, so my theory is that the members of Eva Cult who die young or old albeit of their age get to possess a new body. But since Daniel hasn't died yet he still has a normal body, but of one day he dies, he will surely possess someone way younger.
