Or you know, try being an actual assassin instead of a warrior fighting everyone head on, having little chats. Even if you can't kill him outright that way you could at least weaken him.
Unfortunately watching someone be an actual assassin is boring, since it's mostly observe, sneak, kill, by poison, arrow, slit throat etc. No fighting, no talking.
