I don't understand why Conan doesn't have any suspicions about the chief or doesn't investigate and doesn't know anything about him. But on the teacher and the police chief he had all the energy to investigate them, You have your number 1 enemy in front of you, plus you have help from Haibara that her expression changes when she feels fear organization

@Antmrm   what chief? Who are you referring to? The sushi deliverer? Or the police inspector? Huh?
@Danish guy   I didn't explain myself well . I was talking about the sushi deliverer.

@Antmrm   ah, yeah in that case you are right. Though it looks here in this chapter like Conan is wary about him, idk if he's just treating him like any other adult would, or if he actually suspects anything... BUT  the sushi guy 100% suspects Conan and I swear Conan keeps being "smart" around him which infuriated me xD
But yeah how he didn't notice Haibara in the last chapter also fckn defeated me. pepe sticker
@Antmrm Maybe he doesn't want us readers to know what he is thinking. There is an unusual circumstance that characters know something we don't. Behind the scenes, they might possibly suspect something or someone but that kind of  knowledge was intentionally didn't reveal it for now. Everything you see at first may not what it seems like, after all. Just like Conan is a child at first glance, but he has hidden potential and Vermouth saw that in him... that he is someone whose capable to outsmart and plan with a g**-like mindset.

On the flip side, we readers know what the characters don't. Obviously, it's given Rum's identity is revealed to us but not to the characters. A unique element of narrative style that Gosho pulled, that made me intrigued.

So I'm sure you have also began noticing it, don't you? What I'm saying that could've make sense? Well, the author had a reason why he deliberately hid that from us and why he revealed that key info to us without the characters knowing.

Either way, we gained something in this chapter same as how this storyline had made significant progress. I'm sure Conan did somehow realized, yet didn't told his deductions to us... because he is silently observing. And him being like that shows he is cunning and careful in his approach.
Well, Haibara's reaction is valid though. Someone whose presence itself posed a threat who exudes intimidating pressure, she had reasons to feel fear. Also, that shouldn't be the basis for Conan to accurately figure out there's a Black Organization nearby just because of purely 'sensing' them.

For those who already know Haibara's tendencies whenever a Black Organization member is around, she instinctively trembled in fear and helplessness which her reaction proves that Black Organization isn't to be trifled with or to be taken lightly. Just by their presence around, for her, it was an alarm that felt like a warning.

A signal she couldn't shake off, but she did dismiss that possibility it wasn't them. Because she is slowly leaning on her normal life that she could no longer be paranoid in every second. She had longed to live a normal life without being haunted by ghosts of fear that keeps hunting her, and we readers could feel her desperation to get away from the scene.

Maybe Haibara didn't want to think about it because she wouldn't want to worry the kids. After all, she is older than them by real age so she had to act calm and stay grounded and not letting herself being clouded in fear.
