I like this ending. It's unreasonable to expect the FL to go through what she did and expect her to reconcile with her family or to have any attachments to a fickle country and people who hated her.
Leaving to be with her chosen family and make a new life is better.
But on the flip side I like that her family didn't immediately throw away her sister they knew and loved her all her life. Her not being human doesn't come into it, to them she was their sister. So it makes sense for them to want to protect her and to morn her.
The people would believe whatever they wanted to , no matter what was said or what evidence was presented so it's best just to leave it since she doesn't care and won't stick around.
