@Mimi V. Actually I have a rare variant of face blindness that I was recently tested (actual proper clinical test and not self diagnosed) for and it actually really makes things difficult especially in cases like this. Having a one night stand with someone would you really assume they 'forgot' or would you naturally assume the person is trying to pretend it didn't happen? I've been misunderstood by people before as well as a result of the condition, where they think I'm being rude,  or inconsiderate or something similar. It's really a problem especially since the ml doesn't have any reason or way of knowing and people with face blindness tend to either shy away from interactions or mask it using other methods. The mc scanning people's tags to identify their names is an actual representation of something I have to do every single day at work. This story actually has a lot of accurate references in terms of the condition and people's reaction to it, although I don't think the way someone with face blindness perceives faces is entirely accurate. It's more like you can see the face but it doesn't give you information and your brain can't locate the 'file' in your mind that links to the person including the name until you find a key (eg. specific individual features,  the way they walk, a name tag,  a voice)  it all depends on which factors you 'filed' to remember that person and how significant your encounter with them was. So basically the ml is misunderstanding the mc's motives because he has no idea the mc can't place him at all,  and how many people would straight out go and say oh by the way we banged,  especially when you perceive their reaction as rejection instead of confusion
