It would have been better if the ML had discovered the truth on his own instead of having the MC explain everything that happened. The MC should not have given in to him. The ML should not blindly trust everything the investigator says. Furthermore, the MC lacks self-respect, and the ML does not show any regret or remorse for his actions towards the main character.
