Idk, unless there is some super important bits that is in the novel but not the manhua, the empress needs some serious rehabilitation

@thicknick76 it all happens 500 years before the current emperor that was just crowned. So it would need to be ghostly rehabilitation if the ghosts are even around lol

Basically, from what we've learned in the story (not including info from the novel), the empress seems to be a generally awful person who had a boyfriend while being married, going so far as cuckolding the emperor. When the emperor threatened his wife's boyfriend, we just learned that it was her who took it upon herself to kill mars...
Basically she needs to be rehabilitated by explaining what drove her to do that. B/c on the face of it, she seems awful
@thicknick76 he didn't "fall on it" he walked into it. That IS a voluntary suicide. Also I'm sure the empress was forced to marry the emperor and she was with Mars first so...
@Dr.P the phrase fall on the sword is a figure of speech... it means you "take one for the team" and sacrifice yourself, willingly, for the greater good. You being "sure" it happened and it actually being part of the story are 2 different things. It may come true, but right now it's just speculation.
