Reading it for the 2nd time, i kinda understand the Dr.'s point. It's his first time liking someone this hard and he didn't want to risk the past him or his past mistake to ruin the moment. As much as possible he wants to keep it and the time they had secure and happy. The problem with his past fling is forgivable because he really changed when they start to get serious but the Dr,'s keeping the truth about the 6 yrs ago is a bad move. He should have come clean and true about that
