Exactly how is that a mistake, a mistake is that he fell in love with Soho and used him.

He did all that knowingly. You can't just mistaken kill a bunch of people and then fall for the one whose parents and relatives you've killed and then just be like "Oh well, it was a mistake alright, I love you"
