this is kinda peak politics and negotiations right here, this feels like a middle finger of the trope where villains take hostages but never cared enough guard them or keep where they're imprisoned a secret, making their eventual escape inevitable. These guys are realling paying along with the Machiavellian textbooks, I'm impressed.
