I read somewhere that both arez and cosete are dead and possessed by demons. Cosete originally died as soon as she was born but her mother made a deal with e demon so they possesed her body. Arez died when he was 5 and he also got possessed by a demon and the reason he turned back time is because he didn't want cosete to win. Though idk how true this is cuz I didn't read the nove
