The reason why people see Jigeon as insufferable is for a simple reason, he's pragmatic and idealistic. In regards to how we humans work, there's a lot of factors that are socially constructed, imbedded into us hence why we feel like we can't do this or that. If I Jiseok for example, I'd most definitely conjure a scheme to make him sever his rings, why? Because once he does so he won't remember anything anyway, what's there to feel pain over? In the end, why be so narrow and only look at the current state rather than the long term benefits of a more idealistic state?
