let's be real like the whole problem was created by the crown prince... nevermind that he cheated on his fiance and broke the engagement but he really went and made the daughter of the most powerful man in the country a sacrifice for the dragon and he thought that he could face the concequences and defeat him... Andram has been in power since his father's time, again he is the most powerful man in the country, he has spent years making allies and wealth, of course he would retaliate when they try to kill his daughter and as much as the subordinates of the crown prince might be talented and will probably become great people in the future, they are naive and they are no match to andrams cruelty and the lengths that he is willing to go. we literally see that when andram tells morino that he would fail as a prime minister if he wasnt willing to dirty his hands.  honestly i really pity mary,  if it was not for the greed of hes twin sister she would not face that fate. p.s. Malaki's backstory is so da** sad, probably wont be ready for  the time when its animated.
