His goals switch to much. First it was to be wealthy but he turned down money just to work himself to make better magic stones that I guess supposedly made him more money than he would've gotten from the tower master, but he could've also used that 10,000 gold and invested. I'm not really complaining about this current change because it's ultimately for the benefit of his family.
