The belief stems from the more common belief that it is impossible for (straight) people to have platonic friends of the opposite s** because at some point, they will be romantically or sexually attracted to the person.

Insecure people in particular are uncomfortable or hostile to the idea of their partner being friends with people they could potentially be attracted to later on (and sometimes, it does happen that way)

@69time Immature ppl might think like that because they're drenched with hormones. When you become adult, the brain finishes its maturation. Unless you messed things, a mature/adult brain naturally does permit emotional control. It's purely biological, that stems from the fact an immature brain has "too many" (and/or too messy) connections, hence the overstimulation from things you'll "later on" deem as less to non pertinent when weighting the potential of this or that relation.

Friendly relations between men and women is more common than you seems to think, though some might come or not with benefit. But there are clear FRIENDZONES on both sides with no chances to change in the future. Also not all guys would jump any women and not all women would jump any men. Trashes do exist, but they're T.R.A.S.H.E.S so unless they're your preferences, just ignore those because there are plenty of other (different) fishes in the ocean.

PS: No needs for "friends from the [other/same] s**" to see a trash behaving such -- be it the jealous partner, or the partner fated to cheat should they seek the occasion one way or another. If you're insecure with your partner, whelp it's surely not the right one so it's time to let go. Or just cheat on them as well, y'all both might start to like it this way (to each their own).

@69time I've listened to this true crime case from Rotten Mango, the guys in the school were so delinquent and sh** they'd go around degrading and be misogynistic to girls in their school all the time. Once they went and harrased them, they'd go to their male friends and boost about, "Omg I did this with her!!" As if to get their approval. Their male friends' feelings mattered more than anyone like they'd do things just so they can get a response from their male friends. 

I don't think this is related to your opinion but imo it isn't always about guys wanting to be better than other guys (the alpha male craze) but also about getting validation from them. For that they end up being misogynistic towards women cuz that's their best way. Disgusting as it can get.

@Blonde Guys Are Hot Teeneger brain. Typically in the social validation stage (big decrease in neurons creation, big increase in connections creations). Happens whatever your s** and genre. It's triggered by puberty and last five to ten years depending individuals.
